The National park „Valle de Viňales“ ( approximately 25 km north from Piňar del Rio) with the area of 21 600 hectares is tempting its visitors from all around the world with its beauty. From its flatland with the red soil is gradually raising green vegetated remains of the chalky mountain massifs which are gnawed from the inside by underground waters and from the outside abraded by erosion into a strange, rounded shapes, „Mogotes“, where a whole heap of endemic plant species grow and where plenty birds live.  A genuine paradise for the lovers of nature. The excursion includes the visit inside the „Cueva del Indio“ cave in the small boat, to the mural painting „Mural Prehistorico“ and the view of the valley from the „Los Jazmines“ hotel.

The Trip Programme

  • 08:00 – Departure from the hotel in Havana (english or spanish guide)
  • Stop at "Los Jazmines" - amazing view of the Vinales valley with its dominant Mogotes (possibility to taste great Piňa Colada, not included in the price)
  • Visit of the "Indian cave" - short 200 meters walking trail through the cave and 400 meters ride on a boat on a subterranean San Vincent river
  • Visit of the large painting "Mural de la Prehistoria" on the wall of a rock (Mogote) from the year 1961, representing the evolutionary process of life
  • Visit of a local tobacco farm where you will learn about the process of tobacco cultivation and production of cigars. 
  • Lunch near the Mural de la Prehistoria at the Dos Hermanas restaurant or by the Indian Cave in Rancho San Vicente restaurant. ( 3 course menu + drink, traditional Cuban cuisine)
  • 18:00 - approximate return back to the hotel
